  • Welcome to Spokane Cat Clinic! Dr. Carter, along with his caring staff, provides veterinary services exclusively for cats - from kittenhood all the way through the senior years in a quiet (bark free!), cozy environment.
  • In addition to thorough preventative care (wellness exams, vaccinations, labwork, etc.), we offer a special focus on behavior issues, comprehensive pain management, and feline dentistry.

Meet the Doctors & Staff

In 1995, Dr. Pat Carter took over Spokane Cat Clinic, a cats-only practice founded by Dr. Neil Wittrock in 1984. Why just cats? Dr. Carter enjoys the feline species and feels it is most important for the cats to have as comfortable a clinic as possible. He focuses all of his continuing education on cats only. (Besides, the cats who come here tell us they appreciate our cats-only policy!)
Dr. Carter and his wife have lived in this area for many years and some of the activities they enjoy include spending time with their grandchildren and traveling.

Education
Dr. Carter graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and Public Health in 1977 and then earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University in 1982. Before coming to Spokane, he practiced small animal veterinary medicine in Hightstown, New Jersey from 1982-1995.

Dr. Sarah Patterson grew up on a wheat farm in NE Montana. Throughout high school she worked in the loval vet clinic as a technician. She earned her BS in Microbiology and then continued her education at Washington State University, where she earned her DVM degree. She has two young sons with her husband, along with one dog and two cats.

Jocelyn Macklem is our Office Manager here at the clinic. She has been with us since April 2006. Jocelyn is especially interested in feline behavior issues after dealing with a few of her trouble makers at home several years ago!  She is owned by her four kitties - Swiper, Carter Sampson, Moose, and Bonsai.

Corrine Trottier is our head Veterinary Assistant. She falls in love with nearly every kitty who comes in our door. She is enthusiastic about learning new techniques and procedures that can benefit our patients. Corrine dotes on her cranky old Persian, Tobi, who won't let her adopt any other pets. Guess we know who's boss!
Terra Maus is our Veterinary Assistant and head boarding caretaker. She has a background in grooming and has a special affinity for cats. Her favorite sound in the world is the sound of a kitty purring. She loves making our boarding cats feel at home and giving them as many head scritches and snuggles as requested! She shares her home with Ash, (a Maine Coon cat), and her American Bulldog, Annie.
