Grooming Services

Need a little assistance keeping up with those sharp claws and long fur? We are here to help, especially with those feisty kitties that aren't ok with being groomed at home or at the usual groomer. Spokane Cat Clinic offers the option to use "happy drugs" or injectable sedation as needed so we can get your furry family members looking and feeling their best. Nail trimming, sanitary clips, and soft paws applications are scheduled as regular in and out type appointments, while the sedated grooming options involve your cat staying with us for the day.

To ensure the safety and well-being of both our staff and your pets, we kindly require that all patients have an up-to-date wellness exam with us. Additionally, a current rabies vaccination is required, though it does not need to be administered through our clinic. This helps us provide the best care possible while maintaining a safe environment for everyone. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Pre-sedation Exams

For sedated grooming, we must have seen the patient within the past 4 months to help ensure there are no health concerns that may be influenced by the sedative. We recommend and may require updated vaccinations and labwork depending on your cat's age and health. If we haven't see your cat recently, we will need to schedule you for an appointment for an exam ($74) prior to grooming.

To bathe or not to bathe?

A lot of people assume that a cat needs regular baths like dogs do. This is not the case. In most cases, your cat doesn't need (or want!) to be bathed, except in certain circumstances. In general, we do not bathe cats unless medically advisable.

Here are some good reasons to bathe a cat:

- Your cat has gotten into something that they can't clean themselves (eg. skunk spray, sap, mud, etc.)

- Your cat has gotten into a substance that they shouldn't consume while grooming (eg. motor oil, candle wax, etc.)

- Your cat is arthritic and/or obese and therefore can't reach certain areas to groom themselves

If you have questions about scheduling a medically necessary bath for your cat, let us know!
