Meet the Doctors & Staff

In 1995, Dr. Pat Carter took over Spokane Cat Clinic, a cats-only practice founded by Dr. Neil Wittrock in 1984. Why just cats? Dr. Carter enjoys the feline species and feels it is most important for the cats to have as comfortable a clinic as possible. He focuses all of his continuing education on cats only. (Besides, the cats who come here tell us they appreciate our cats-only policy!)
Dr. Carter and his wife have lived in this area for many years and some of the activities they enjoy include spending time with their grandchildren and traveling.
Education
Dr. Carter graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and Public Health in 1977 and then earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University in 1982. Before coming to Spokane, he practiced small animal veterinary medicine in Hightstown, New Jersey from 1982-1995.

Memberships
He has belonged to the American Veterinary Medical Association since 1980 and to the Washington State Veterinary Medical Association since 1993. He has extensive experience in treating cats.
Part Time Associate Veterinarians
Dr. Jocelyn Woodd currently works a few days every week with us. She is a wonderful doctor and we are lucky to get to work with her! At her home in rural Spokane she has 2 horses, 1 dog, 2 cats, 1 bunny, 1 hamster, 1 gecko, and 1 Beta fish. She enjoys spending time at home with her daughters and husband, and riding horses. Dr. Woodd is especially interested in complex medical and surgical cases.

Dr. Collette Bergam graduated from Washington State University in 1993. She regularly fills in for Dr. Carter so you might see her from time to time. She gets rave reviews from the clients she see here! She is also the state veterinarian for the Washington State Horse Racing Commission. Dr. Bergam's pets include 2 dogs and 5 cats. She also has an interest in holistic medicine including acupuncture, osteopathy, and chinese herbal medicine.
