New or Chronic Illness

Is your cat exhibiting signs of illness? We can help diagnose and treat many health problems. Some of the many treatable illnesses we see include Hyperthyroidism, Chronic Kidney Disease, Diabetes, Urinary Tract Infections, Urinary Crystals/stones, Food Allergies, and Arthritis.

Cats are experts at hiding pain and illness. Here are some of the signals that indicate cause for concern:

  • Lack of appetite
  • Urinating outside of the litterbox
  • Defecating outside of the litterbox
  • Sneezing, coughing, wheezing
  • Eye and/or nasal discharge
  • Increased thirst
  • Increased appetite ("ravenous")
  • Weight loss
  • Limping
  • Constipation or loose stool
  • Fur loss, bald spots
  • Scooting or dragging their backside on the floor
  • Hiding out and/or sleeping in unusual places
  • Vomiting

Some concerns are more obvious than others, such as bite wounds from a cat fight, or limping. If you are not sure if you have an emergency on your hands, contact us and we can help you come up with a plan of action.
